The Center for Disease Control has recommended the use of cloth face masks to help fight the spread of COVID-19.
This face mask is made from 100% polyester and includes two ear loops with adjustable grommets for a comfortable fit.
The printed area of the mask is approximately 7" wide by 5" tall. This mask fits well on adult mens' faces without the grommets but, due to the adjustable grommets, can be worn snuggly by adult women, as well.
Please note - this is NOT a surgical grade mask. It is not intended for any medical or commercial uses, whatsoever. It is a simple, cloth mask designed for everyday use to cover your mouth when out in public. The mask should not be used in any medical or surgical setting.
We make no warranties that the mask prevents infections or the transmission of viruses or diseases.

I began this piece with a large Enso circle I painted with India ink. From there I added a background made, in part, with calligraphy written in a letter from Japan in the mid 1940s. The overall texture, under the letter/calligraphy, is a photograph I took of a cement wall on Whidbey Island. Can you see how much fun creating my photomontages can be? If you look closer in the lower right, there are two circles, which are macro photos I took of the back of a metal locker tag. More hand-painted scribbles and lines and I called it a day. I also offer a square version of this picture.
I'm a photographer, writer, educator based on Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest, specializing in photomontage work, combining photos I've taken of rust, walls, peeling paint, birds, postage stamps, trees, etc. into images that are completely new, different, and often weird. I also create physical collages, then find myself photographing parts of them to include in my photomontages. It's crazy, but it's fun! My career has encompassed writing guidebooks (primarily about where to photograph in California), newsletters (guides for photographers about where to photograph in the United States), leading photo workshops, and conducting online classes. I agree with Claudia - love hearing (and then seeing) about all the pieces and parts of your compositions. This one is definitely a winner!
Carol Leigh replied:
Thank you, CJ. I know you like hearing about all the details, and I always think of you when I include them in the description. I should just start talking about things that aren't even in the picture, just to baffle you! "In the upper left corner I included a couple of chopsticks to echo the shapes of the dried ramen noodles in the center..." Hahahahaha! Seriously, though, thanks for your words of confidence.

Dear Carol, I always appreciate (love) how carefully you choose the ingredients to make your images so very much more than a sum of ther parts. So livey and lovely! l/f

I accidentally lost my reply to your comments, and it was worded SO well! I was saying how much I appreciate the time you took to leave such a nice comment, and how you are always so encouraging. Thank you so much.
