Description
Shadows on a concrete wall were created by bright sunlight on a rusty rebar ladder. I was drawn to the sheer geometry of the image, with vertical and horizontal lines on the left combining with mysterious diagonal lines angling over to the right. Add the rectangular forms of the cement blocks, and it’s all about composition, line and design, light and shadow, complementary colors of blue and rust. Mystery and practicality come together. Also available in a full-frame rectangular version.

Does David du Chemin in his book say anything about work that can demand a second look and a second though ? If so does he mention you by name ?
Carol Leigh replied:
You're too kind. I consider his work something to aspire to. Completely different than my own, but created with intention and meaning.

Carol you go around spotting and recording the compositions created by the Sun God. And with your skills, equal to the beauty of that sunlit, fleeting moment, say to us. LOOK AT THIS.
Carol Leigh replied:
Okay, Charles, this is weird. I bought David duChemin's new book "The Soul of the Camera," and every morning I read a chapter. When I find something I find interesting, I will write the quote in my journal. This morning, as David was talking about photos that SAY something, this is what I copied into my journal: "At minimum, what we say in our work is, 'Look at this.'" EXACTLY what you just said! Amazing, no? 😳
