Description
I don’t know what this is called, but I see them all the time on railway cars, their little faces peering out from the undercarriage. This one was made by Stanrail, a company in Gary, Indiana, which closed after serving the industry for 30 years. It’s the old, weathered look, the heavy metal, the bits of colorful graffiti that are flaking off, that grab my eye every time. And the face? So startling to see on a big piece of equipment.
