The tall ship “Adventuress” was a part of Port Townsend’s 41st Wooden Boat Festival and looked beautiful off in the distance, with land barely seen in the background. I combined a number of my photographs to create this photomontage. Fifty percent of my proceeds will be donated to help support this National Historic Landmark Tall Ship.
I'm a photographer, writer, educator based on Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest, specializing in photomontage work, combining photos I've taken of rust, walls, peeling paint, birds, postage stamps, trees, etc. into images that are completely new, different, and often weird. I also create physical collages, then find myself photographing parts of them to include in my photomontages. It's crazy, but it's fun! My career has encompassed writing guidebooks (primarily about where to photograph in California), newsletters (guides for photographers about where to photograph in the United States), leading photo workshops, and conducting online classes.
