Calligraphy without meaning atop a never-ending circle of sound silenced by illegible messages.
I like the rounded form of the circle contrasting with the straight lines of the little squares and the bold indigo/orange stains on the big horizontal rectangle.
This 2020 Covid year has been bizarre, and nobody really knows what’s going on. So in this collage I’ve got illegible writings, sounds that can’t be heard, masks, circles and squares, and boundaries. Yet we notice beauty everywhere, and let it come through whenever possible.
And this is the weirdest description I’ve ever written for a work of mine!
