Description
As an artist you walk a fine line between revealing too much about a piece and not enough. What I like about this image is its feeling of mystery, of the look of blue water, shimmery lights, dark buildings, perhaps, and a twilight sky. Will I ruin the entire feel of this picture by telling you how it was made? Maybe. So consider this a SPOILER ALERT!
All the components here are photographs, pictures I took in Kyoto last year. I shot a street sign that had remnants of tape and paint on it. I shot a placemat in a lovely restaurant. And I also photographed some shadows on a wall. I mean, isn’t it obvious? Ha!
